BEHIND-THE-SCENES WITH THE BHLDN STYLISTS

Oh the life of a BHLDN stylist- From the outside looking in it's all sunshine and roses but they work hard, really hard. Sure they get to play with dreamy wedding dresses and crystal bridal accessories, but they also put in long hours answering customer inquiries, working with store staff, shuffling paperwork (it is a desk job after all), and carefully measuring and fitting each product to different body types so they can complete all the aforementioned tasks. There are endless to-dos to complete at their perfectly styled desks each day. But, of course it's the fun stuff we want to hear about...

Every month or so the web stylists gather up the gowns, dresses, and accessories we're preparing to launch and hold a day long fit session. I've started tagging along on some of these and capturing the rare behind-the-scenes moments we all die over. The tulle! The lace! The perfect pair of shoes! It's exhausting work for them but a bridal fan dream. Here's a look at some of the images I've captured for our most recent launches (the Fall 2015 Collection is on-site now!):

The stylists try to imagine and reimagine each dress for all types of wedding venues- courthouses, city lofts, rustic woodland paradises, destination weddings, churches, vineyards, backyards...all of them. It's their job to anticipate the questions our brides will ask even before they ask them, and to challenge the popular trends of the day to encourage our customer to be the best versions of themselves on their big day. It's a big job and I'm constantly amazed at their commitment and love for all things bridal. A love that includes BHLDN, but also transcends it. If you're ever in need of wedding advice, I highly recommend the BHLDN stylists free services. Oh right, I forgot to mention they do all of this for free- as if they weren't awesome enough. - b.

COPENHAGEN PT. 5 | THE GARDENS

This is the final installment of our Copenhagen adventures, I promise, and it's probably my favorite because it's all about flowers! Duh. The whole city was in bloom while we were there and with daily showers, and mild temperatures it was no wonder. Everywhere we looked there were tulips and daffodils smiling up at us, lilacs tempting us with their intoxicating scent, and wild branches exploding with color as they stretched their way to the heavens. Of all the gardens we saw, large and small, my favorite had to be the Copenhagen Botanical Garden. Here's why:

It is a magical fairyland of adventure, with extensive grounds that meander and twist their way around the largest greenhouse I've ever seen in my life. Rooms spilled out from every angle and in each a new living plant to discover and another world to explore. We sweat our way up a stunning spiral staircase to lookout over the tropical trees and bushes, and wipe steam filled windows clean to look out over the grounds. To say I was giddy would be an understatement.

We spent most of our day just relaxing and carrying on, pretending wound the place. There may have been a kiss or two under the trees and talk of a piece of land to recreate this ecstasy in. Travel has a way of making me dream big dreams and love life just a little bit more...

COPENHAGEN PT. 4 | TIVOLI GARDENS

On the clearest blue day in Copenhagen we took a step back in time and played children again in Tivoli Gardens. We didn't do much research on Copenhagen before arriving, but one thing that immediately caught our eye was this city-centre treat. One of the oldest amusement parks in the world, it's home of a menagerie of rides, games, and sensory delights.

We kicked the visit off with a throw-back meal from my London days, Wagamama, and then immediately hit the fastest rides available to us! From their chinese-inspired dragon coaster to their alpine wooden one, we had one ride of our lives after another. Here's what else we saw:

One of the things I was most excited to see in Tivoli was the live pantomime show. It's the oldest, continually running show in the world and easy see why. Part ballet, part comedy and part traditional pantomime- we were mesmerized. The kids in attendance may have stolen the show in parts though, with their belly-rolling laughter and awestruck amusement. It was unlike anything I've seen before.

Tivoli also holds a secret- their delicious exclusive beer and ample green space! We spent a good hour just laying in the grass, sipping our lagers and enjoy the sweet sunshine. We stayed until well past sunset and made our way slowly, dizzily back to our apartment. Our heads full of cotton candy dreams, laughter, and happy memories. Add this to the list of must-see when you make it Copenhagen. - b.
